Meanwhile, Roxy has her own challenges dealing with the bar and Bettya 's nephew wanting to own it outright. As for Denise, her affair with former patient Mac will have definite consequences.

With Frank’s unit having run into trouble in Iraq, Denise tries to discover his fate. She turns to friend Claudia Joy for help, but she is busy reestablishing her home base after deciding to remain in town with Emmalin.

Claudia Joy house hunts as Emmalin’s rebellious ways continue. Pamela is also on the lookout for a new place because her kids no longer want to share a room. Elsewhere, Roland is confronted by an outside therapist about the care available for soldiers and Trevor’s career is jeopardized by a bad call he makes during a drill.

Pamela disapproves the methods used by her son’s football coach for teaching sportsmanship. Elsewhere, Denise and Frank seek advice regarding their relationship; and Joan and Evan are assigned as opponents in the annual war games exercise at Fort Marshall.

Joan and Evan compete against each other in Fort Marshall’s war games; Haneen’s surgery is a success; Frank and Denise continue to work on their relationship.

Michael and Emmalin spend some quality time together to rebuild their relationship. Claudia Joy escorts Haneen back home to the Middle East. Roxy is concerned that Finn is having difficulties in school.

Roxy’s favorite country singer comes into the bar looking for a job. Chase’s homecoming is ruined by Pamela’s hunt for her lost wallet. Jane agonizes over the family milestones she’ll miss while on her deployment.

A former senator’s widow is escorted by Claudia, Joy and Denise to a groundbreaking ceremony on the base. Elsewhere, Roxy tries to make a good impression for Finn at his private school; country singer Jack Ingram gives a show at Roxy’s bar; and Roland gives comfort to Joan over her pending deployment.

Claudia Joy gets into a car accident with Denise on their way to a spa where she receives a shocking diagnosis. Menwhile, Trevor and TJ bond during a fishing trip; Finn enjoys his first day at school; and Jeremy is reminded how precious life is when a soldier is injured.
